The short answer
No. Checking your business funding options with Batch Capital uses a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. A hard inquiry can happen later, when you accept an offer and the funding provider runs its own check. Comparing offers through one desk avoids piling up hard pulls from many lenders at once.

Soft Pull, Hard Pull
A soft inquiry lets a funder see a credit file without the check counting against the score. A hard inquiry is recorded on the report when a lender reviews credit to make a lending decision, and it can lower a score for a while. The difference is not in what the lender sees but in whether the check is scored.
Our quiz and our application use a soft pull. If you accept an offer, the funding provider may run a hard inquiry at that point, before funds go out.
Why Shopping Around Can Cost You
Applying to five lenders separately can mean five hard inquiries in a few weeks, and a run of new inquiries reads as a business looking for money everywhere. Applying through one desk that places the file with its panel lets the file be priced by several funders on the strength of one soft check.
That is how our desk works: one application, read by the funders on our panel, and the offers compared side by side on Estimated APR and total payback.
How Much Credit Matters
Less than most owners expect for short-term funding. Across our panel the floor is a score of 500 as of September 28, 2026, and the deposits in the business account carry more weight than the score. Longer, cheaper products like term loans and SBA loans weigh credit more heavily.

When does a hard credit pull happen?
