How it works

The Terms, in Plain Words.

How much
Up to the vendor's quote. Some files fund the full quote; others ask for a down payment, depending on credit, time in business and the equipment.
What it costs
An interest rate and an APR, set by the lender on your file. Ask for every fee in writing.
How it is repaid
Fixed monthly payments over the term.
How long
Matched to how long the equipment earns: shorter for technology, longer for trucks and heavy machines.
How fast
As fast as 2 to 5 days from a complete file and a final quote.
Collateral
The equipment itself, so the rest of the business is not tied to the note.

Timing depends on the provider, the time of day you apply, and how quickly documents arrive. Files submitted with complete bank statements before 2 PM Eastern on a business day are the ones that fund fastest. Not every file funds in a day.

When it fits

Use It for the Right Job.

The next truck or trailer

A second truck is a second revenue line, and it secures its own payment.

A kitchen, a chair, a machine

Restaurant lines, dental chairs, CNC machines and lifts all finance against what they are worth.

Keeping cash for the business

The equipment is paid for over the years it earns, and the cash stays in the account.

When Something Else Fits Better.

Working capital, not equipment

A merchant cash advance or a line of credit funds payroll, inventory and repairs. Merchant cash advance

Real estate with the equipment

An SBA 504 loan funds real estate and major equipment at a fixed rate. SBA loans

A planned project beyond one asset

A term loan funds the whole project with one fixed payment. Term loans

Commonly Asked Questions

Equipment financing is a loan to buy a vehicle, machine or buildout in which the equipment itself is the collateral, repaid in fixed payments over a term matched to the equipment's useful life. The business owns the equipment once the loan is paid off.

How does equipment financing work?
A lender pays the vendor for the equipment, the equipment secures the loan, and the business repays it in fixed payments over a term matched to the equipment's useful life. Once it is paid off, the business owns it outright.
Do I need a down payment for equipment financing?
Not always. Some files fund the full quote; others ask for a down payment, depending on credit, time in business and the kind of equipment. Ask for the down payment requirement in writing with the offer.
Is it better to finance or lease equipment?
Financing builds ownership and suits equipment you will use for years. Leasing can lower the payment and suits equipment you will replace soon. Compare the total cost of each over the same term.
Can I finance used equipment?
Often, yes. The age, condition and resale value of the equipment affect the term and the rate, so a quote that names the year and hours or mileage helps.
What do I need to apply for equipment financing?
A quote or invoice from the vendor, three months of business bank statements and a government ID. Checking options uses a soft pull that does not affect your credit.
How fast can equipment financing fund?
As fast as 2 to 5 days from a complete file and a final quote. The lender pays the vendor directly.
