RMH's liquor store page describes the industry as marked by stiff regulations, extensive competition and varying tax laws, and lists selling individual units and cases, multiple tax levels, volume and BOGO promotions on preset sale dates, and daily or one-time block windows that automatically prevent alcohol sales during restricted hours. For age checks, RMH lists a partner age-verification add-on (Liquor Max). Its features page lists case and pack quantity, an item matrix and multiple ordering methods.
RMH's upgrade page says Microsoft RMS has not been sold or supported since July 2021, and that moving to RMH preserves the RMS database, customer records and sales history and keeps most existing hardware and peripherals. RMH runs on premise with offline capability, and multi-store operation runs through RMH Central. RMH does not publish pricing.
Square is the lighter option. Its wine and liquor page advertises scanning IDs to verify age when alcohol is purchased, per-item bottle deposits added at checkout, inventory that stays accurate when units are sold in a different quantity than purchased, automatic purchase orders when stock runs low, and automatic discounts by item, category, quantity or time. Square's retail pricing page lists age verification prompts on every plan; ID scanning and purchase orders need Square Plus, at $49 a month per location.
